Rejected by his father, Gabe Salazar fell into a life of violence and crime

 

Motivational speaker Gabe Salazar has revealed how the rejection of his father led him to trust in Jesus.

Salazar, who travels across the world sharing inspirational messages with young people, grew up in a single-parent household after his dad abandoned the family.

He said: “I had a lot of anger because why would someone not want their kid? I have a five-year-old at home and when I hold him we have so many memories together and I love sharing stories of moments with him.

“As I look at those I remember being his age and growing up wondering, ‘Why do I not have a dad in my life?’ ”

Given the rejection he experienced from his father, Salazar turned to the streets to seek acceptance.

He became involved in stealing cars, fights and crime – but everything changed when he attended a youth rally and let God into his heart.
