Staring at a ‘seven-stone bag of bones’, Rana Kundi knew something had to change. Drugs were killing him and he’d lost all hope, until God stepped in and his heart was stirred and changed forever

Rana Kundi is as surprised as anyone that he’s now a pastor.

After becoming hooked on drugs and blowing £300 a day to feed his habit, Rana eventually checked into the Teen Challenge rehab programme, which is where he discovered a personal relationship Jesus Christ.

“I grew up in a Sikh family with a belief system of, ‘Be good and one day you will go to heaven; be bad and you will go to hell or be reincarnated until you get it right,’” he says.

“That was the ideology and perspective I was raised with.

“At the age of 11, I discarded that because I couldn’t keep obeying all the rules and I subsequently fell into the wrong crowd and started smoking
cigarettes, even at that age.

“That rapidly progressed to marijuana, speed, ecstasy, cocaine, crack cocaine and then heroin by the age of 15.”
