iBelieve editor, Peter Wreford

Nothing grabs the attention like a good story.

I read an incredible book about the lunar space mission and I got so enthralled that I found myself telling our printers all about the amazing technical achievements of the rocket engineers – and my astonishment at the fact the team expected multiple things to go wrong on the journey just on the basis of the law of probabilities! That’s some risk to take…

Mark-Henn

I think that’s why Mark Henn (pictured) is such an interesting character. He spends his time telling some of the most widely repeated tales on earth as an animator for Disney. It’s such a crucial role in our society and it’s a real encouragement to hear that at least one of the people behind these incredibly influential films names Christ as his Lord. If you’ve got any small children in your family, it’s likely you’ll be familiar with Mark’s work on Disney’s mega-hit Frozen. As Mark says, Frozen takes plenty of cues from Christianity’s own story of love and sacrifice, which makes it a great source for people reaching out.

My friend J.John is another incredible storyteller who makes outreach easy. This month, though, he’s been speaking to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, to find out about the man beneath the Mitre. It’s intriguing to hear from the Archbishop and find out a bit about what made him into the socially conscious campaigner he is. It’s a tough time to be a public voice for the Church, but Welby does a great job of presenting a compassionate and thoroughly Christian take on important issues.

Whatever you think of Disney or the CofE, though, we can all agree that we’re a nation in need of much prayer. Ian Cole paints a compelling picture of the global situation and concludes with a powerful call to our knees. Let’s respond by giving the Lord no rest until he touches our land!
