Rose Namajunas: "I just had to have faith in God.",,,
Once again Rose Namajunas is the UFC strawweight champion. And she has given all glory to God for her success in the octagon.
Namajunas pulled off a shock victory just 78 seconds into the first round against Zhang Weili to regain the title she lost a year ago.
She said: “I did it again, but God did it, man. I really just had to have faith in him. That’s what got me through.
It’s nothing personal against Zhang, but that’s a huge motivating factor of why I fight, and I fight for freedom.
“I’ve got the Christ relationship in my life, I’ve got Lithuanian blood, and I’ve got the American dream. All of those things I’m taking with me into the fight.”
Having beaten Zhang, Namajunas has now defeated the two dominant strawweight fighters in UFC to earn the divisional crown.
