A Santa lookalike is using his festive appearances to share God’s love this Christmas.
Carl Nielsen, 60, is twinning his Santa suit with his own bushy beard to offer one-to-one Zoom chats at RealFatherXmas.com. He can also been seen live at The Way Inn in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.
Carl took up the role five years ago and fell in love with it when he noticed how children got caught up in the magic of meeting Father Christmas.
“A girl of about eight told me, ‘You’ve made my wish come true. I wished you’d be the real Father Christmas and you are!’ You can’t get a better compliment than that,” he said.
Being Santa gives him the perfect opportunity to share God’s love. “The word ‘Christmas’ starts with Christ,” he tells the kids, “and Jesus is my best friend.
“God loves us like a father. I think people can see Christ in me,” he said.
“I carry Christ wherever I go and that’s no less true when I’m being Father Christmas.”
