James Mead, of Kutless, says delivering the Bible is "incredibly rewarding". ,,,

Christian rock star James Mead, best known as guitarist in popular band Kutless, now helps distribute Bibles across Eastern Europe.

Portland, Oregon band Kutless sold three million albums, and at one point were performing 200 concerts a year. But recently they scaled back their touring and James was able to fulfil a long-time calling to work for Bible charity Eastern European Mission.

“I supported EEM myself for about five years, and I just begged them to hire me,” he said.

“Now my full-time mission is to speak at churches or other events and share what God is doing as we give people the Bible all over Eastern Europe.”

So how does James compare rocking out in front of thousands of fans with working for EEM?

“It’s just as rewarding,” he said. “Our focus right from the early days of the band was always to promote the Bible. We’re still doing some projects as Kutless, but it’s tremendously exciting to be doing this.

“I get to see the Bible in places where it has historically been stolen from the people. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how God changes and transforms these communities.”
