Miracle healing for mum who was ‘at the end’

Sarah Watkins has travelled the world sharing the story of her remarkable healing ,,,

A young Essex mum of two was bedridden and so ill she thought she was going to die. Then she started to pray, and everything changed.

A year after being diagnosed with ME, full-time mum Sarah Watkins’ condition plummeted, leaving her sick, bedbound and at rock bottom.

“I was at the end. I couldn’t stand up any more. I remember thinking no one could feel so unwell and still be alive,” she says.

Sarah had already endured a lifetime of severe sickness. But now, feeling suicidal and unable to join her husband, Mark, and two daughters in day-to-day family life, her total desperation drove her to cry out to God.

“I said, ‘God, if you’re there, please help me because I can’t live like this any more.’”

This was 1989, the year world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham held a crusade in Britain. Two weeks after praying this prayer, Sarah was at home listening to the event on the radio, and heard Graham share the gospel and invite people to faith.

“I knew this was what I wanted, and I prayed the prayer he prayed,” she says.

It was a decision that transformed her life.

Sarah began reading the Bible and praying, and the anxiety and depression that had plagued her lifted.

As she embarked on her new journey of faith, she began to learn about God and grow in her relationship with him.

Reading the Bible, she discovered how Jesus healed people, and Sarah felt God teaching her that he still healed people today.

“God encouraged me to write down Bible verses about healing then read them daily, taking them like medicine,” she says.

Over the following year, as Sarah did so, she realised her symptoms were subsiding.

TOTALLY HEALED

“Every symptom began to disappear, until one day I remember waking up and being completely and totally healed.”

But this miracle was far from the end of her story.

During her year of praying, she had once asked God if her prayers were working.

“I remember him saying, ‘I’m going to heal you and you’re going to take my healing power to the nations.’”

Now she began to see that promise come true.

Sarah began to receive invitations to share her story at meetings and conferences, and then on mission trips around Europe, America and Africa.

As the invites grew, she launched the ministry she runs today, Healing2theNations. Three years ago, she joined evangelistic organisation Mission24 as an associate evangelist too.

Through both, she has seen God do miracles.

More than 30 years after thinking her life was over, Sarah is passionate about helping people who have no hope, having travelled that road herself.

“I have a real heart to help people who’ve been given diagnoses where there is no hope, or women who can’t have children. I’ve seen people healed of auto-immune diseases, cancer, deafness and paralysis.

“God wants us to have abundant lives and I love seeing people impacted and changed by him forever. That’s why I do what I do – to see God changing lives.”

Mark and Sarah now live in Cheshire, and have four grandchildren.
