The staff at an Halesowen (West Midlands) estate agent’s shop paid their own tribute of admiration for Queen Elizabeth II by replacing property pictures in its windows with 28 stunning photos of her late Majesty.

Shoppers passing the LexAllen Grove corner premises at 18 Hagley Road paused to look at the attractive display and many called inside to express their delight.

Manager, Dawn Hughes said: “We were all touched by the passing of our Queen and made a joint decision to express our mourning for her by displaying a variety of pictures of her outstanding life.

“We wanted to show our gratitude for the way in which she has led the country for over 70 years right up to the time of her death.

“She was a leader loved by all, who led by example and showed a total commitment in everything she did. She carried the Christian faith right to the end and it was her personal surrender to Jesus Christ that kept her strong and full of grace and dignity.

“Her passing is such a major event. We decided to clear our windows of adverts during her Platinum Jubilee and were united in doing it again when we got the news of her passing. Nothing like this has happened in our lifetime.”

Lisa Saunders, sales manager commented: “The world would be a much better place if everybody did as the Queen did and said their prayers in the evening and were grateful to God for reaching the end of the day.”

The display of photographs, including the latest taken of her late Majesty at Balmoral, was scheduled to remain on show for 12 days until the Queen’s funeral had taken place.
