Pop star Justin Bieber has returned to the stage, crediting his Christian faith for helping him recover from a rare face condition.

Bieber, who has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, stopped his world tour in June after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

But the 28-year-old relaunched the 75-concert trek in Italy the following month, saying “each day has gotten better” amid his faith in Jesus.

The condition, which typically strikes people aged over 60, left the singer with half his face paralysed.

But, back on tour, he told fans on Instagram: “I have found comfort in the one who designed me and knows me. I’m reminded he knows all of me. He know(s) the darkest parts of me that I want no one to know about and he constantly welcomes me into his loving arms.

“This perspective has given me peace during this horrific storm that I’m facing. I know this storm will pass but in the meantime JESUS IS WITH ME.”

The Canadian has always been vocal about his faith, even telling fans during a previous world tour to put Jesus at the centre of their lives.

“I love talking about my faith,” he said. “Christians have left such a bad taste in people’s mouths – just like, overly pushy with the subject, overly churchy and religious.”

The star’s wife, US model Hailey Bieber, is also an outspoken Christian.

She previously said: “I’m here to represent Jesus through me, for other people, for his will to be done. I think the second that we think that we’re too, like, high and mighty, we’re always reminded that it’s not about us. It’s about us being a vessel for Jesus to be seen.”

The pair revealed they had saved sex until after their marriage.

Hailey said: “It’s just that I’m fighting to do this the right way, to build a healthy relationship. I want people to know that. We’re coming from a really genuine place. But we’re two young people who are learning as we go.”

Justin added: “God doesn’t ask us not to have sex for him because he wants rules and stuff. He’s like, I’m trying to protect you from hurt and pain.

“I think sex can cause a lot of pain. Sometimes people have sex because they don’t feel good enough. Because they lack self-worth.”

Justin’s world tour reaches the UK on February 8, in Glasgow, and he’ll also perform in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield and for four nights in London. Two concerts are planned for Dublin.
