West End singing sensation Rachelle Ann Go returned to the stage with her new son Lukas in tow when theatres opened again after the COVID closure.

Performing as Fantine in Les Misérables, Rachelle starred for six nights as the Gielgud Theatre reopened its doors.

She wrote on social media: “I was able to bring my little family to the theatre! Although Lukas didn’t watch me, he waited patiently backstage while his Papa Martin watched the show and for me to feed him.

“To all the working mamas out there … how do you work with no sleep and be a mama at the same time? Well, it’s amazing that we can do it right? I only did six shows and enjoyed every second of it but I think I’m staying home with Lukas for now.”

Outspoken Christian Rachelle Ann Go is a Filipina singer/actress who got her big break in 2004 when she was declared the Grand Champion of the reality talent search Search for a Star. She credits prayer for landing roles on the biggest theatre stages in the world, including Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Jane Porter in Tarzan and Gigi Van Tranh in the legendary Miss Saigon.

Raised as a nominal Catholic in the Philippines, Rachelle finally went to church with a friend who wouldn’t stop asking her. “I told my friend, ‘For you to stop asking me, I’ll go!’”

But the visit had a huge impact: “Mine was the typical Christian story. I sobbed the whole time. I felt at peace, and at home. My spirit was so filled. Of course, it took me a long time to go deeper.”

Her Twitter bio quotes Proverbs 3:5-6 from the Bible: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
